Hi Rolf, Kelly & Nat.

Thanks for your time on Wednesday, it was great to meet you and to build more of a picture of the assistance you need in the weeks ahead.

You guys are part of something incredible and it’s so encouraging to see DT carving such an important path as a place of deep devotion and heartfelt worship to Jesus.

When we spoke I said my primary reason for having this conversation was from the deep desire to see DT 25 be a huge success. For that to happen there needs to be a concentrated team effort to deliver media and communications in line with the superb assessment that Peter and JJ have provided.

Skills

To be really clear, the practical skills I can bring to this are - leadership, marketing and media strategy, content direction, Squarespace implementation/updates and I can also potentially allocate some time for content creation/curation.

I am not specifically a social Ad manager nor email marketer but have an oversight of these elements. In discussion with Peter we think that Josh Stannard (former colleague of Peter’s) would be a great addition to this team to help deliver direct Meta Ads to the 30+ demographic.

Personal note

I stepped out of The Send at the end of June and in doing so promised my wife and 3 sons that I would be fully present with them over the Summer. I’m keen to honour that whilst exploring how I can be a help to DT.


We’re attending the Keswick Convention at the start of the holidays and we’re away on a family holiday in Cornwall for 2 weeks also at the start of August.

Therefore my offer here is to dig deep in the next two weeks alongside John Metcalfe (my former colleague at The Send - now their Media Director) and that we have key check points over the next seven weeks with both and/or me and John who will be fully appraised of our progress.

How would we work?

7-18 July

Here’s how we would spend next fortnight:

SOCIAL MEDIA
Develop the organic Social strategy
- Build this out in line with content pillars and adapt the story arc. Immediate actions include:

  • Pinned carousels which inform/remind people of what DT is (reel also once produced)

  • Line up clarity(in a ‘go low’ way)

  • Develop strategy for daily posts (x1 reel, carousel or image +1-3 stories).

  • Line up 2-3 collabs per week.

  • Key content pieces - overarching vision, message from key DT figure explaining why DT happens and how worship teams are selected

  • Implement majority of social post ideas from Peter within the plan

  • Plan content carousels for different personas (as identified in the strategic review) families, Gen Z, 50+ etc

  • Develop Content briefs issued to be issued to existing volunteers and high quality, vision aligned christian content creators

  • Direct ask of contributors with filming guide (seek to collab on these and create high quality worship moment reels they can also collab on)

  • Direct ask RE: team testimonies - clear filming plan and deadlines for delivery

  • Develop from the push chairs to the stage - all in together for Jesus.

  • Begin/Commission/Produce ‘Big Vision Piece’ - to go live week 21 July.

  • Sort YouTube Out - change main video, banner etc (ensure is joined up with other social formats).

  • Decide on The Send media output for collabs.

WEBSITE
Update Squarespace asap

  • New home page

  • Potential Navigation change (even if just for the ticket campaign)

  • Ensure this is laser focused on DT August event

  • Strip back distractions

  • Super clear and easy C2A’s

  • Ensure brand consistency is upheld

EMAIL
Develop email campaigns for key demographics

  • Working with Kelly to deliver a focused, inspiring and hope filled email campaign (your database is absolute gold).

  • Cover vision

  • Cover practicals and overcome problems

  • Bring empowerment to the audience

  • Aiming for a minimum of 2 data segmented emails per audience to each group per week. All to be written, planned and ready to be scheduled by 18 July.

META AD CAMPAIGN
Develop email campaigns for key demographics

  • Appoint Josh Stannard to develop Ad campaign (work with Nat on visuals etc)

  • Retargeted and audience focused

  • Aiming for 30+ on stand alone ticket reminders - begin ASAP

TEAM MEETINGS

  • Attend Monday 11:30am - 7, 14, 28 July and 4, 11 and 18 August.

CONTENT TEAM
Pull together additional content producers and helpers to assist in developing content - this will be a combination of Nat making requests of DT volunteers, Ben and John drawing on Send content creators and possibly YWAM Harpenden team.

21 July - 21 August

  • Ensure the strategy is implemented

  • Pivot or adapt as required based on data, metrics and prayer

  • Regular team contact time to ensure focused delivery

  • Josh to deliver Ad spend

Investment

July - £9k

The bulk of the spend to be made ASAP in order to build traction and ensure target audience choose to secure their spot at DT over other potential Christian summer events.

  • Be Creative Team (Ben, John & other support team - £5k)
    Delivering strategy, website update, email content support and content creation development (as per above) + specific content pieces.

  • Josh Stannard - Ad Spend (£4k)
    Delivering targeted Meta Ad campaign

August - £3k+

Augusts investment will hopefully increase off the back of increased sales allowing for more investment in Ads and content creation.

We can invest more into either area depending on the traction we’re seeing. This is also a final push and the strategy + bulk asset development plan is underway from July.

Next Steps

If you wanted to go ahead with what I have proposed I would commence work asap.

I would invoice for July now and then August at the start of the month.

It would helpful to have then following questions answered

To begin we’ll need:

  1. Access to drives of content or SSDs (video primarily and photo also)

  2. Brand guide including logos/fonts etc

  3. Introductions to anyone on team for whom I need to lease

  4. Access to all social media accounts

  5. Access to DT Meta business suite

  6. Access to Squarespace (hello@becreative.team)

  7. Agreed format structure for funds to be released so we can pay for Ads and content creatives etc (whether DT pay directly etc)

  8. Access to internal comms systems if that exists (e.g Slack, Workplace etc)

  9. Permission to reach out to potential collaborators and partners and content creators on behalf of DT
