Your Brief

CLERO (College of Lived Experience and Recovery Organisation) are wanting to develop their first website to help as a resource for other recovery organisations. The website will provide information to individuals, policymakers, potential stakeholders and general information.

Key elements required include:

  • Mission statement and values

  • Who we are

  • An ability to share blogs/news

  • Twitter integration

  • To add files

There are potentially three levels of visitor interactions for which we need to take note. They are:

  1. Tier One - CLERO members (with private access)

  2. Tier TWO - CLERO organisations and requested membership

  3. Tier THREE - Friends of CLERO, individuals, policymakers,

Our Response

We deliver of our websites using Squarespace. This platform has many benefits. We are confident in the efficiency of the platform, the 24-7 online customer support, its user ability, and its design qualities. Using Squarespace will allow for a clean, easy to navigate, mobile-friendly platform. It can be updated quickly by an app and easily adapted should there be a need to do so. It is trusted by millions of customers around the world and is the platform used to create thewellcommunities.co.uk and rec-path.org

Within Squarespace we can have a Member Area which would serve T1 visitors. They would have a unique login and this section could be populated with content only available to these users. Administrators would have the ability to add or remove these persons. There is an additional annual amount payable to Squarespace to activate this feature:

Squarespace: £180 per year
Member area: £84 per year

To make your website build as cost-effective as possible we would suggest using photography from CLERO members and Unsplash royalty-free images to create a clear image-led website. Should you need a brand developing we can assist with this if required.

Our Process

A typical work flow process would look something like this:

  1. Client provides written content required for website, contact details and any graphical assets they would like to utilise (brand guide, images, videos etc).

  2. Social We Talk? commence the website build using our knowledge and experience to create fluid user journeys

  3. The first website provided for review

  4. Amends made and the second review sent (additional reviews/amends charged at our hourly rate)

  5. Sign off - handover includes 1hour training session via Google Meet.

Time Scales

Due to demand, we’re looking at being able to begin a website build 2-4 weeks from project ‘go ahead’ from a client. This also means you have this period of time to collate written copy and provide any graphical assents and brand design/guideline packages for us. Providing all these elements at teh start of the build enables us to have everything we need to complete the task and even potentially come in under budget on occassion.

Investment

£1,800-£2,850

This estimate is based upon the time required to produce the website. We invoice 50% at the beginning of our projects, 25% at first review and 25% at sign-off).

Charges to Squarespace:

Squarespace: £180 per year
Member area: £84 per year

Domain

This can be purchased through Squarespace (free first year and roughy £30 per year thereafter)

Ongoing

We’re available for training and support should it be required. We provide an ongoing maintenance plan at £60pcm for 1 hour of support if required. The idea would be that you would manage the website yourself and we provide a 1-hour training session at handover so that you can update the website yourself going forward.

Next steps

If you’d like to proceed, we would arrange a ‘kick-off’ consultation outlining what content we need and plan the website structure. We’d also plan timelines and invoice 50% of the project to commence work.
